At Photo Atelier Marashlyan we pay particular attention to the men's suit from hamshen, which has rich embroidery in dark blue and purple colors. Everyone asks why is this costume so different from other regions of historical Armenia. The answer to this question can be found only in our history, by exploring that region and people who lived there. The history of Hamshen as an independent area dates back to the XIII century, in 1480 the last hamshen king David II lose the war, and these territories fell under the rule of the Ottoman Empire. Islamization of Hamshens in Turkey started in XVIII century. It had its influence not only on traditions and culture, but also on a national costume.
